My T-RCE Slash 4x4 #2
My first RC truck ever was a Slash 4x4 Ultimate, which I found to be an excellent little basher, so after I eventually sold it T-RCE came up with their beautiful carbon/magnesium kit and I had to build me one of those! :D
I decided to go all in with the build and this is what came out of it. - T-RCE LCG Carbon Fiber Conversion Kit (#SL44-LCGKIT) - T-RCE A-arms (#SL44-AA) - T-RCE Adjustable Front Shock Tower (#SL44-FST) - T-RCE Adjustable Rear Shock Tower (#SL44-RST) - RPM Slash 4x4 Front Bumper & Skid Plate (#80022) - RPM Slash 4x4 Rear Bumper (#80122) - RPM Mud Flap System (#81012) - Tekno rear RC M6 Driveshafts and Hub Carriers (#TKR6852X) - Tekno front RC M6 Driveshafts and Steering Blocks (#TKR6851X) - Tekno RC 17mm Hub Adapters for M6 Driveshafts (#TKR1654-17) - Tekno RC Big Bone Center Driveshaft and Outdrives (#TKR6855) - FastLane Machine Center Diff Cup (#FLM26010) - FastLane Machine Diff Cups, front or rear (#FLM26030) - Pro-line Racing Power Stroke Shocks, Rear (#6063-01) - Pro-line Racing Power Stroke Shocks, Front(#6063-00) - PowerStroke SC Universal Shock Mounting Hardware Kit (#606305) - Pro-line Racing Flo-Tek Ford F-150 Raptor SVT body (#3366-00) - Pro-line Racing Caliber M2 (Medium) Off-Road 1:8 Buggy Tires Mounted on V2 White Wheels (#9030-31) - STRC CNC machined aluminum multi-piece steering bellcrank set (red) (#ST6845R) - Servo Sanwa Hyper ERG-VB - Outerwears shroud (Losi TEN SCTE) http://gregersblach.dk/slash4x4/gallery/0.JPG http://gregersblach.dk/slash4x4/gallery/45.JPG http://gregersblach.dk/slash4x4/gallery/46.JPG http://gregersblach.dk/slash4x4/gallery/22.JPG http://gregersblach.dk/slash4x4/gallery/23.JPG http://gregersblach.dk/slash4x4/gallery/12.JPG http://gregersblach.dk/slash4x4/gallery/15.JPG http://gregersblach.dk/slash4x4/gallery/52.JPG http://gregersblach.dk/slash4x4/gallery/53.JPG http://gregersblach.dk/slash4x4/gallery/55.JPG |
That's a really nice looking truck.

Amazing Build.
Beautiful !!!! |
Thank you. The guys at T-RCE did all the work. ;)
|
looks nice!!! Careful with that traxxas plug you have there, doesn't look like the bars are pushed in all the way.
|
Well spotted. Done by someone else, but I will fix it before installing a battery. :)

Wish this kit was avail when I spent a fortune on my slash. Nice build

Very nice Slash you built there...
I own one of those TRCE conversions myself and it's excellent! Tried that gorillamaxx battery strap mod myself, sadly the strap ripped after 2-3 lawn darts  What's the length (hole to hole) of those proline shocks up front? I'm thinking about getting D8 shocks for my Slash too, since I allready ahve them on two other RCs. But they wont fit on the stock towers up front. So the question is if I can get away with the TRCE front shock tower, or if I need to get a rear tower for the front as well. By the way, if you want to use aluminium steering knuckles up front with the Tekno M6 shafts, you can either widen the outer bearing positions as I have done. Or you can just get the XO-1 steering knuckles, they are a direct drop in. |
That truck is so sexy! I don't know what magnesium does for an r/c vehicle, but I want some!
I like the subtlety of the red only on the cups and steering. I would love to see it with a tekin setup and this red tekin motor> http://www.ebay.com/itm/Tekin-SC4X-S...item43b25a31b8 Or whatever kv in an scx4 motor you want. I only use castle stuff myself, but when you build r/c's as beautiful as you do, you might as well stick with the color scheme. Awesome build. Thanks for introducing me to T-RCE. |
They claim that the Magnesium parts are 35% lighter than AL and just as strong. Also they claim that their parts are lighter than the stock plastic parts. The shock towers are very interesting....many tuning options.
I like the disclaimer..."(Magnesium dust is flammable. Do not grind, sand or modify in any way)" I would be curious as to the weight difference vs a stock Slash. |

ask and ye shall receive...... i think that's still how we do things around here:lol: my almost stock traxxas 4x4 weights in at 2335g the only things not stock on mine are -proline power stroke shocks -kings head mount -tekno M6 cvds |
Lovely build man, absolutley amazing. Eyecandy.com!

Thanks for all the kind words, gentleman. I am kind of proud of this build. It's winter time now so it will probably be a while before I drive it. Right now it's sitting in my office looking all pretty. :)
