RC Cars take on real cars at the dragstrip.
I think If the RC driver stood at the 1/8th mile and had enough elevation he could have stayed on it all through the 1/4 mile.
But then again, that slash, and the Revo just don't have the top end to run against real cars that trap over 100 in the 1/4mile. The XO-1, or any number of the monsters that members on these forums own could definitely destroy the cars in the 1/8th mile and beat them in the 1/4 mile. Wish my own local dragstrip had a lane that was next to the strip like that. I don't think they'd let the RC cars run on the strip with the cars at any of the dragstrips around here. Yep, I've tried to bring them out a few times at the local 1/8 mile here and they won't let them anywhere near the track if cars are running.

I'd like to see how my Truggy fares against a real car one day.
With 6S and a 1717 using some fine tuned TQ Limiting and Punch control I think I could pretty much lay waste to everything in the 1/8th mile that isn't trapping 100+. And my Hyper One Seven, I can't wait to get that thing sorted out and launch it hard. I am going to convert that to a center spool I think. Its on-road so I don't have to worry about driveline shock as much. |
I would like to see a Baja 5b with enough power to take on a real car, or teh XO-1 I'm sure would destroy pretty well anything.

While that video was fun to watch none of those vehicles were running very fast numbers off the line to try and compete with the XO1.
I want to a car that can cut a 1.5-1.6 60ft time and runs in the 10's race that thing. If the XO1 can run 100+mph in the 1/8th mile then that equates to a 130mph 1/4 mile time so roughly mid to high 10's in the 1/4, depending on weight. Regardless the car is FAST. Nick |
Car and Driver tested one, with their limited skill they managed an 11.7 @ 101mph. Personally I think the XO-1 goes a little faster than that. And with a good launch you might be able to get it down near the mid/low 11s.
