Has nothing changed?
Long time no see
But it looks like Castle ESC's are still doing the same as usual. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_QZK1OLm_nE http://traxxas.com/forums/showthread...Monster-2-Fire Seriously guys, this shouldn't be happening. |
So the guy in the video was using low throttle start up facing up a hill. Essentially using it like a crawler esc:no: The guy's on the trx forum seem to be blowing caps, hmmm IIRC they smooth the ripple current. Is the ripple current too big for the caps? Meaning they are using shitty batteries?:whip:
You know the only time you post on here now is to bag on castle but you know your trolling won't tarnish the fanboy's here:na: |
So two reported Mamba Monster 2 failures (one from February 3rd and one from March 16th) constitutes "doing the same as usual". I apologize that we don't have a 0% failure rate with our products. Thanks for letting us know about these two failures.

I've always been a really big fan on Castle, but the monster 2's going bad is concerning me some since I have one in my E-Maxx that's starting to cog extremely bad all of a sudden, just like all 6 of my traxxas vxl-3m ESC's did right before they blew. But in castle's defense, they've done way better than traxxas in my experience.
I had an old mamba max in my rustler that i had blow one cap in 3 years, a monster that lasted from when the V3 came out till last summer even though it went underwater with a 5S countless times. With Traxxas I've had an EVX, xl-5, and 6 vxl-3m's go pop-crackle-smoke-cackle :) I also had a losi ESC go bad in my micro-t and my friend had one go bad in his mini-t Either way, yes, castle should get it sorted out |
So you have a sample size of 2, and those 2 chosen with the intent to prove a point. Not exactly credible evidence if you ask me.
