Need opinions for a 10th speed car
So I was digging thru my selection of old rc project pics and came across (don't worry Harold, I wiped it off!) a pic of my old direct to diff outrunner redcat!!! A real POS, but it had the makings of a good idea.
We lacked escs that could handle the startup loads back then, quark was the best bet but those things were like ticking time bombs. I have decided to revist this concept with a 10th 4wd on road car. Looking to do 100mph. I know this is not that fast, and I have almost done it before with a conventional setup. Thinking MMpro, 28 size outrunner, 6s lipo. What I need help with is a platform that will be easy to put the outrunner in. Basically I need a setup that has an al chassis and std diffs front and rear. So probably something nitro. I would like it to be cheap (why not) and have good parts availability (nothing discontinued) and above all else be strong. I really do not car if it is heavy as power will not be an issue. |
CRT / scrt.5. Dirt cheap and solid.

Wondering if I can get an 1/8 scale lola body to fit.... I really like the aerodynamics of that body and wante to use another like it. The nitro (200mm) body fir my electric 10th (190mm) and I did not have to cut the wheels out, which greatly helped the stability. I will investigate the crt.5 for track width etc and see if it will work. |
TC4...proven time & time again

CRT .5 with longer chassis and super RS4 body

I have 3x tc4s 1 stocker, next blue aluminum shocks drive shafts etc last one the carbon fiber puppy I always wanted as a kid... My cars are getting larger as my eyesight fades in my old age if you want to rip one or 2 apart
