New Electric Lawn Mower

I just picked up a EGO Lawn Mower. Just wondering if anyone else is using one of these yet? Pretty interesting 56v lithium ion battery. The battery is pretty big, I was comparing it to a 5s battery and it looks to almost exactly three times larger plus a protective case.

Here is a link to the mower if you haven't seen it before.

I'm going to be using it for the first time this week. It's suppose to run for 45 minutes on a charge then only take 30 minutes to recharge.

Any idea the capacity of the battery pack? How about replacement cost? 56v sounds like a fun ebike voltage. :)

Hi Mike,

They list replacement battery packs for $200. No idea on capacity.

My 5s battery reads 18.5 volts. So 56v = 15s correct?

Read the manual and they list part numbers for the battery (page 8). Apparently there are two options (at least it says so in the manual):

56v 2Ah: http://www.homedepot.com/p/EGO-56-Vo...1120/205163009
56v 4Ah: http://www.homedepot.com/p/EGO-56-Vo...2240/205163019

Yes that is true. Two differnt battery sizes. You get the 4ah with the mower and the 2ah batteries with the blower and trimmers.

I just used the mower for the first time today in slightly wet grass. It worked great I was very impressed.

Haha, just watched the video on the site.
Look at 1.06 minutes, on the right of the man, that looks like smoke?

How well does it cut through 4" tall grass? I'm just going to wait till I find a used one, as it is a bit much too me for a 20" lawn mower. My 13 year old 6HP 22" lawn mower still does the job for now. But every time I walk pass it in Home Depot, I can help but stare at that thing and how cool it would be to slap the same battery into my bike after I'm done mowing.

It cut my 4-6" tall grass very well this weekend. It has as much power oR more than my last corded electric motor and as much as gas mowers Ive used as well. So far so good. I will keep the thread updated as time goes by.
