Lilpanther's E-LST2

I picked this up off RcTech to toy with and build. The guy I got it from had converted it to electric but I really don't care for his motor mount solution so I will be using a RcMonster motor mount to replace his mount and a Castle 1717.

Here are some pics of it when I got it.

The last guy's homemade motor mount.

Next I picked up a NIB 5mm shaft Castle 1717.

My rcmonster motor mount and pinion came in today. When I bought the mount I knew it could only fit up to a 48mm can motor whereas the 1717 is like 49.5mm with the fins so I will be making a spacer to space the mount up so the 1717 will fit the mount. I plan on making the spacer tonight so if the weather holds out I might be able to do a 3s test run tomorrow.

Here is the mount.

Sorry for the double post but it wouldn't let me attach all the pictures.

And here is the 25t rcmonster pinion vs an old chewed up 21t pinion of unknown make I had on my old 1717 erevo.

I made a spacer for the mount today so the 1717 would fit and it worked out just right. I made it out of a piece of metal we had laying around and just hit it with some silver paint to it didn't stick out like a sore thumb and got the motor and all mounted in the truck. So if the weather holds out I hope to make a test run tomorrow.

Here it the mount with the spacer in it.

Checking the motor in the truck with the bag on it so I didn't beat the motor up.

Motor in with the bag off and I took the battery tray that comes with the losi conversion kit and mounted it in the front of the truck.

And a shot of that beefy mount and pinion.

Got my first run in with the truck today and it ran pretty well, I think the slippers on the way out and o forgot to loc-tite the motor mount screw's so they worked loose but other than that it ran awesome.

Here is a video of its first run.

Looks like the truck has plenty of power. Nice job, have fun with it.

I would stick with the dude mount because it is meant to fit the 1717 as long as you have the m4 swivel plate and the RCmonster mount that I used isn't. I found the old 1717 on chance.

But here is a link to the RCmonster mount.

Took the truck over to a friends house for a bash session and the RcMonster mount gave out on me and stripped out the holes, I think the screws may have been a little short after the spacer to make the 1717 fit.

Then I noticed it wasn't driving right before the mount messed up so after I got home I started checking the truck over and found I had broke a pin in the rear outdrive cup and apparently shattered the bevel gear in the diff.

So today I got my titanium motor mount and single speed hub so I can get that part taken care of and now I am waiting on new gears for the rear diff.

The titanium mount held up well. I actually snapped a CVD and ended up taking the 1717 out of the truck and put a Castle 2200 in it with the endbell drilled out for the 4mm screws.
