Just saw this a few days ago, actually - pretty impressive fail really. :-)

_paralyzed_ 06.09.2015 12:36 PM

It really was! I can't believe they hit that skinny take off ramp, and I can't believe they think they have enough consistency to hit a landing ramp.

I hope they hit their goal.

Impressive they hit that 2nd ramp.

Chipwood is wortless, perhaps plywood would have survived the hit and it would be a successful jump instead of an attempt

lincpimp 06.13.2015 08:11 PM

If they get better they could try jumping something really impressive like Harold's playgirl collection. He has all of them from the seventies onward but Hippie told me most of the pages are stuck together.

Serum 06.14.2015 01:35 AM

Sticky pages; That's what you get from spilling Coca cola and cotton candy, right? If the unthinkable happens and Harolds collection is cleared they could raise the bar and jump the manuscript 'One day of female logics'

RC-Monster Mike 06.15.2015 09:35 AM

Let's not get carried away, Rene - we all know that is an impossible jump!

Dafni 06.16.2015 04:11 AM

Pretty impressive attempt! Just a few inches short, looked like it would have been a nice landing too. Would love to see them make it.

Quite ballsy ramp setup, that's for sure.

Serum 06.16.2015 04:37 AM

Heya Daf! Ol' labtech. Goldplated any insects recently? Ballsy ramp indeed! Nice to see you again. How are you? Still active in RC?

Dafni 06.16.2015 08:18 AM

cheers Rene, I'm fine, hope the same goes for you, and any other RC-M member from back in the days.

No, I was never really into all that insect stuff, we do that just to show off the electron microscope to outsiders. But yeah, I'm still at the same place, same job.

It's been a while since I bought any new RC stuff, but I am still messing with the old gear from time to time, my trucks and buggies from 2007, all still going strong. Remember Gusti and his squad of hopped-up maxxes that I did for him?? I bought all that stuff back from him at a bargain price. That motivated me to go out and bash again.

all the best

Daf

Good to hear you are doing well.

Yeh! I think I remember Gusti's rides. That one with the cool body you've painted, cut so the front shocks where visible, right? Lots of RPM stuff if memory serves right.

Bought a truggy (absima) for dirt cheap with a 6s capable sensored setup, with 2x2s packs whole setup is absima. Got a buggy of that same type, for parts compatibility. Most recent purchase is a summit. I like the bashing, go to the same place we've been to with Mark. (out in the sticks) 4s gives plenty enough power for serious speeds. The revo is tougher now too with the steel collar uprights.. Arh well. A lot has changed :)
Build/converted a few trucks for two friends recently.
We now have two sons btw! Lovely little chaps.

Wow this may be the most epic thread in RCM history, we have the owner, admin and og mod plus a great rc fail and some Harold based insults.

As far as the female logics manuscript goes, I heard that Stephen Hawkin was going to write the foreword, so at least some part of the book could make sense...
