Wire Lengths

Ok I am trying to figure out which is more important, to have the motor wires or the esc wires shorter??? Can someone shed some light on this for me.

Cut the wire with the most resistance shortest - if the ESC wires are 12g and the motor wires are 10g, for example, make the ESC(thinner) wires shorter.

Ok my motor wires are 8 awg and my esc wires are 7 awg. So I should cut the motor wires because they will have the most resistance?

As long as the motor wires are of the cuttable variety, then yes - I would cut the thinner wire(assuming both wires are of similar quality, strand count of course).

I would mount the components where they are best placed and let that determine wire lengths.

That's what I did I am gonna shorten the motor wires first.
