Castle 2028 electrical specs
 
Hi !

I've just bought a brand new dbxle and I'am thinking about to replace the original power system with a xlx/2028 combo :yes:

What are the Rm at the bullets of the 2028 ?
What is the I no load (I0) at 32V ?
What is tu continuous power it can dissipate and stay below 80°C ?

You would certainly say 1.7 milliohm A to B, B to C and A to C at the bullet connectors :surprised: ??? How it is possible with around already 1 milliohm of 8AWG wire resistance ? Maybe it's 1.7milliohmresistance per winding and so it's 3.4 milliohm phase to phase + 1 milliohm of wire = 4.4 milliohm at the bullets (AtoB, BtoC, AtoC) as you always measure them by two in Y motor, am I right ?

For example the DBXL-E motor at bullet (1.5 turn Y) is 5.8milliohm with 1.15 millohm of wire (8AWG 28cm lenght x2) so it is around 4.65milliohm AtoB, etc... so 2.32milliohm per winding (not directly measurable as connected inside the motor).

Is the 2.2A I0 current at 32V ? Because it is very very low :surprised: !, the DBXL-E is at 4.2A@32V

No, those are wrong, sorry.

I was thinking about each individual winding, not bullet to bullet. There are two windings per phase in series (four poles) and two phases in series due to the wye.

The IO current is at 10V -- I'd have to measure it at 32V.

OK. So the Ri of one winding is 170microohm (!) or 1.7milliohm (more realistic) ? It would give 3.4milliohm phase to phase and around 4.4milliohm bullet to bullet and it's seems pretty realistic for a motor of that configuration and size (one turn WYE and 1230 grams) ?

That's about right, including the wire and bullets.

And do you know the maximum allowable current in the 2028 winding before the iron saturates and so the torque does not scale linearly with the current and the efficiency rapidly colapse ?
