E-Buggy. Motor choice! HELP!!! lol

hey Guys. Been thinking about this conversion alot lately.

I want to be able to keep up with the nitros at my track. We run up to 25 minute mains I believe.

I'd prefer to run 12 cells but will run 14 cells. Is their a motor that can secure me about 35 minutes of run time to be safe?

I'd rather not go lipo.

Thanks

Chances are, you won't find a motor to run that long on only 12 or 14 cells but a 10XL probably will with some IB4200s and the right gearing. It would be close those.

I may go lipo. I was thinking the 10xl with (2) 3s 6000mah packs. What do you think I could be looking at as far as runtime on that setup?

A LONG time! That's some crazy power you'd have there. My guess is that the runtime should be ~45mins depending on the motor and how you're running the buggy.

Would I be safe from the heat issues and still be able to keep up with the nitros?

Should. My 10XL doesn't really heat up much with a pretty high gearing.

Yeah, you can gear it relatively long. You should be able to get impressive runtimes with it.

I think that be the best way to go. It would be real close on nimhs. Not saying you will make it but you would have to run out on the last go of the race or so. That would suck.
