reverse modul upgrade
I took the savage out this weekend.
I tried the new savage x slipper as well. The X slipper is great. It held to well though. I need to upgrade the reverse modul or run a forward only. I like to have reverse. I think it may be done though. I rung the input shaft going in the modul. Does anyone now if there is an upgrade for this part? I will test it more with out reverse to see if the rest is strong enough. The power is great. I was happy with the speed if could drive it straight. I will have to test further and see what happens. |
Leroy, i dont know if HPI or any body makes a hardened or stronger part for the reverse module. As i dont know how that part looks in the savage tranny, maybe mike could put somthing together for you?
Leroy, there is no heavy duty part for the reverse module.
Well i guess it is forward only then. Thanks rene. Well I got the forward only shaft back in it now. I guess i see what else will break or shear.
I hate it without reverse, does the tranny dis-engage reverse? Electric doesnt matter if it is FOC tranny? Right?
Well the electric and nitro work the same on the savage.
With the three speed and mechinal brakes it only works one way. So no reverse now. I think it be ok. If it don't go thru it around it. I guess the nest thing is over it. :D |
You cant go over a fence or a tree ;)
Thru the fence back flip off tree. :D :P
Stunt man! Leroy, isnt that past your 5 post per day limit? ;)
I know this is an old thread, but I was wondering if anything new is out for the Savage reverse module? I keep breaking them in my BL Savage X and it's driving me crazy. I like to have reverse, but it is a pain! I wonder if Mike could make something? But what would help?

Hi,
i like savage truck, but reverse modul it's like s...t. not durable and more heavy. if you want reverse and ESC brake i have a idea, you can try it. you can lock 2 speed gear, look like my picture. hope you know my word. |
Looks like a good idea. I was thinking of locking the one way bearing on my 3 speed with JB Weld. Would this hold up? Or would a roll pin run through the whole hub be better?
