stock drive shafts
 

How do you guys find they are holding up.

Ive just changed the rears on mine due to a bit of stretching around the joint pin.
Does anyone run steel shafts? if so what, and is the extra weight worth it?

I like the stock sliders, and I will keep them. Mine hold up good so far, but for a mishap on my old BL Revo: Broke a yoke, landed a fat flip at WOT... was asking for it. And they were already 1 and a half year in use.

I will even keep the sliders when I'll finally go to 1/8 diffs on the revo. Came up with a way to mount the sliders to HB diffs.

Im also keeping my sliders, they are very light and strong, if they dont work for you than the MIP's are the way to go.

Im interested on how your going to mod them! I already found a very cool way to mount my sliders to the 8 spyder diffs!

I've got about 8 runs on my stock shafts. They are already looking like they arent gonna hold up for the rear. Is this what they look like. I think Im gonna have to go w/ the CVDs. Fronts still look fine.

Thats what happenes to alot of people. Did you land a jump badly or have you done any backflips? Ive got about 100+ runs on mine and look brand new.

i've got at least 50 runs on mine and they look new.

No. I havent even been doing much jumping. Ive mostly been running in open grass fields.

I actually think Im just pushing them to hard. Running a 9XL on 6s with mulchers combined with a fairly heavy revo(11lbs and change). I'm thinkin that the mulchers just hook up to well in the grass and Im stressin the heck out of the drive train. Blew the rear dif cup also last time I ran. I'm rebuilding that now w/ Aluminum cup, case and RR spur and ring gears. I'm hopin that will be good enough for the diff. I also twisted a cheapo CVD from ebay.(went back to the stock shafts after twisitng the cheapo cvd)

The Mulchers hook up so well from a standing start I can punch it and actually get the truck to lurch so hard it pops up hits the wheelie bar and leaves ground a good foot into the air. Pretty cool looking, but bad for the drive train.

Bottom line, I probably need to treat here better. Been slappin it around pretty good.
