Lehner Basic XL 1200 Brushless motor but which controller ?
Hi, I have a Revo Gorilla-maxx powered by an HV-Maxx, i'm French and running with this truck on the european tour (Monster Contest tour) and finished 4th last time.
But I also have an xb8 and the Team Helotes arena kit conversion and i'd like to brushless it ! So I want a very powerfull motor like the Lehner Basic XL 1200, but with its rpm, i want to know which controller is able to power it as well ? I think i'll power it with 14 cells not more because it's heavy. So can ou help me ? Best regards. Patrice |
with 14 cells and a buggy, go for the wanderer L or XL can..
I use a 9L on mine, on 12 cells.. It is fast. the basic XL might be a bit too small for such a small gearing. The Wanderer L or XL get's my vote. Welcome to the forum bytheway! |
If you are going to run the motor on 14 cells I would think that you should have a higher KV motor than the Basic XL1200. More like the Basic XL2400 or at least the XL2000.

Thank you for the fast answer.
So you think that the XL1200 is too big for the truggy ? 7XL for example with a warrior controller like 12020 ? I've seen that the other motors aren't available ! Best regards. |
No, it's too small for a truggy i think.
Your gearing ratio is somewhat limited, so you need a motor that delivers more torque. The 7XL would be okay with a 9920 on 14 cells. the 8XL would do about the same, with a bit longer runtime. You can email Mike about the motors. He can ship them directly from germany to France. With the steel spur, you really need a hardened pinion! |
Thank you for your answer !!
I'll mail mike but on which adress ? @gmail or rcmonster ? |
the gmail address is the best.
And you are welcome! |
