Just bought a e-maxx
 

I just bought a e-maxx off a guy yesterday. It came with a brand new hv-maxx system with 4 pack of 3600 smc pro matched cells. The truck was never driven on dirt, so its like brand new, not even a speck of dirt on the entire truck. My question is though, he has it geared at 66 spur, 17 pinion, would this cause alot of overheating, or would it dramatically reduce my top speed? Thanks

Usually, gearing higher will increase top speed. I don't think I would worry about it if it doesn't thermal or get really hot. You might want to sell if for sensorless :) Well come to the forums BTW.

sorry the gearing is 20 pinion 66 spur.

Chances are that will cause problems. Try going a little lower.

I ran my hv maxx with 14 72 gearing. It seems to like the lower gearing. Increase the run time as well.

Check the Novak site, they have got a list for optimal gearing.
