Welcome to the forums, hope you enjoy your visit. I doubt there is much over a few ounces difference between them. I'll find out soon as I'm giong to get a CF one to go with the alumnium one i have. I know using NIMH's mine gained three pounds over nitrowith 12 cells

It is about the weight of 1 sub-C cell.

Well then, I shall stick with aluminum and save weight elsewhere.

Carbon fiber would be the way to go, really. Its lighter, takes alot more to break than aluminum does to bend, etc..

Id go for aluminum, its not too much of a weight difference, but if you break CF you need to wait for a replacement part, as for aluminum you can just bend it back and still drive while waiting for the replacment part! :)

The alumnium battery plate makes a good heatsink for thr batteries, I found out in my first race in over three years with the G2R

But probably the aluminum chassis is a bit flexible and not as stiff as a CF one. Anyway, I'd stick with an aluminum chassis for it's cool lovely look, but still, for racing, CF is the right choice.

Yea, but buy a spare if your bashing or racing, they sure come in handy!
