New Lehner Basic XXL Motor?

Just saw this on the Lehner Website. Not sure if its news or not. Got my attention though. Could this be the ''In Between'' the 19 series and the Feigao motors so many (well at least I have) have been wondering about?

Not much info posted. Just this:

Currently under development: The new BASIC XXL motor. Scheduled release in september.

Anyway.... It got my attention.

That's good news,i think they'll be very popular, the quality is every bit as good as 19series,only the non segmented magnets is the main difference.

should be a nice motor for the monster truck segment. the basic xl is just a tad on the small side and the 19 series is almost overkill for all except those who have a very high budget. I'm hoping they fall in the same price range as the basic xl's. I would be willing to spend $160 - $175 for the quality of a lehner. 300+ is a bit much for me to spend on a 19series.

well.. it's 150 Euro's.. that's not too bad at all....

squeeforever 10.22.2006 10:21 AM

And its made in Germany...

So don't buy it:005: :007: ^^

No i think lehner had done really a good job to get a good name in the rc-community..

They sure did Maxxler. I personally think their prices are a tad too high though.

maXXler 10.22.2006 03:36 PM

Yeah the prices show their self-confidence...

squeeforever 10.22.2006 03:37 PM

I think there prices for the Basics aren't bad considering the quality...

Serum 10.22.2006 03:39 PM

I think they are high. considering they don't use segmented magnets. For that price they should have segmented magnets.

aqwut 10.22.2006 06:46 PM

They could've used segmented magnets.. but 2000 watts from 265 grams is pretty amazing....

coolhandcountry 10.22.2006 06:50 PM

Has any one tested the xxl motors out yet?

squeeforever 10.22.2006 07:36 PM

I think I'ma get one as soon as I can afford it...Try it out...Thats pretty impressive...The XL motors aren't even 2000 watts.

jhautz 10.22.2006 08:30 PM

They seem to be missing a good 4s or 12 cell wind in the XXLs? 3000kv is to much for 4s and 1800kv is probably better for 5s.

Really big oversight IMO

squeeforever 10.22.2006 08:37 PM

Not really...The XL3100 is a typical motor for 12 cells or 4S, so I would guess the XXL3000 is ok...
