Brushless setup for a e-zilla10??

HI !

I,d like to kwo what brushless setup that woud be sutiable for a hotbodies ezilla10 ? i whant a top speed of at least 45mph:027: and over 25min runtime on a 8000mah lipo pack with 4-6s.

and then i,d like to know what kind off uppgrades i have to do on my ezilla10 t? to handle the power .

will revo driveshafts fit he ezilla10 ?

The maxx halfshafts fit the e-zilla and will be needed also make sure the grub screw that attaches the half shafts to the diffs isnt to tight as it tends to beak the diffs

also the shocks are abit of a pain the 3 racing ones are better but still not brill make sure you change the screws in the bottom of the shock to some longer ones or they come out and bend the shafts

i ran a 9L in my e zillait was ok but i only used 12 nimh cells with lipo i could see it breaking more often i defently wouldnt runt more than 4s lipo in an e zilla

What's gonna break if i run more than 4s lipos ? is it something in the driveline ore did you just meen that it woud go so fast that i might hit something ?

The drivetrain would give easily.

yea i blew a few bevral gears with my setup so anything much more powerful and youll blow quite a few

Yeah, that's what i've heard too. the diffs are a weak point.

with some aluminium diff-housings it is stronger. but the inners are rather weak as well.

If you convert a savage, you have got a stronger truck.

Its the hole in the bevral gear where the half shaft connects to nothing inside the actual diffs broke on me at all

speedy 07.22.2006 06:39 AM

Right :018: so you guy's think that i choud buy a savage to convert instead of the e-zilla10 ? witch one ? savage 25,save x or ???

and what brushless setup woud be perfect for a savage ? can i use the stock transmission ? and coud i mont he motor under on top of thr spurgear ?

i quessthat i coud lock the 2-speed cluth by inserting a long skrew instead of the small set skrew and sprin rigt ? and maybe put som epoxy between the cluch and the second gear ?

The traxxas revo seems easyer to convert ? what do you think ?i already have a e-maxx transmission.

Its not that the Revo is easier, but I think its superior as far as the suspension and handling. The Revo gets my vote.

I tried a 8L + 9920 and it's great but breaks the halfshafts :002:

Now I run with a HV-Maxx and it is a perfect BL setup becouse the low weight of the car and it only fits two 6 cells packs.

It needs a little mod in the right TVP:

I am in the process of adding a HV-Maxx to the Zilla. May I ask what size of pinion do you use? Did you follow the gear ratio recommended by Novak (13/66 or 14/66)? Thanks.

VWT4 07.28.2006 04:34 AM

The E-maxx is a heavy truck compared with E-Zilla.

First I tried with 15T with no thermall problems, now I am running a 17T (19.7:1 in this truck) and it is great.
