Mamba for T4

Thinking of getting a T4 and why not make it brushless to. :027:

Looking at the Mambas, I have no idea with these setups, only have my knowledge on the E-Maxx sized motors. I'm wanting to run 7 cells NIMH probably a 4300mAh, the GPs.

The 7700 looks quick, what speeds would I be looking at and runtimes? I think the one down is the 5700? Can't remember.

Oh, on the topic of T4s, can the slightly bigger GP4300s fit in flat/side-by-side?

Thanks,
Nick.

The 7700 really isn't an ideal motor for a T4. Look at the 5700 or 4600, both will do quite well. If it were my car, the 5700 would be my choice (I do in fact run the 5700 in a 1/10 4wd buggy).

First off, don't get the GP4300's. They don't hold there voltage well. The IB4200's are the way to go. Either them, or the 3800's. The for 7 cells, I would not choose such a high KV motor as the 7700. That would be ~65,000 RPM's. I would choose something like the 4600 if you might run more cells or LiPo, or the 5700 if you wouldn't run any more than 7 cells. Remember, even though the CC motors are rated for high RPM's, there still gonna run hot and inefficient at such high RPM's. Try and stay around 40k for most BL motors, the CC motors, 45k would be good.

I think they supposed to have a 6700 version coming out. Just not sure when.

MetalMan 07.27.2006 07:20 PM

Yeah, there is a 6700 motor. The Mamba Max box shows the option, but other than that there hasn't been a sign of it yet. I still think though that the 5700 is the fastest motor that should be chosen for a T4.

Yea, you should take into consideration the fact that the diff isn't exactly bullet proof.

One thing you must know nick-the car is going to break very easily. when mine is run under BL it feels very weak. ive already broke the rear shock tower from very small jumps (not even 2 ft)

I got one in a t3 and all i can say is WOW. The power is unbelieveable form just six cells

my t4 and mamba doesnt see the dirt or jumps...but the mamba 7700 is insane in it on 2s lipo. i accendently laid down a 1ft burn mark on concrete with foams by blipping the throttle....

Mine don't spin on foams, all i get is wheelies

sleepy23 07.30.2006 02:09 PM

i dont wheelie...to me its a waste of time and power. i never spun foams on outdoor concrete before the mamba, so it was quite different to see them spin like that.

I run on dirt, so its not lowered. On occasion it will wheelie on dirt

How efficent are the Mambas? Do they run well?

Also... can you buy the motors seperatly yet? I've seen the ESC for sale but not the motors individually.

Thanks for the replies.

MetalMan 07.31.2006 09:48 AM

So far, you can't get the motors separately. Only the ESC has been separate. But why would you only want to get the motor?

Nick 07.31.2006 10:04 AM

I could buy the 4700 system and then try the 6700 when it comes out.

Who stocks the Mambas? I tried their site but they are back orderd for 3 weeks!!!
