Ideas for the perfect brushless truck
Hey people,
after 6 months I finished my J-truggy http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/3869/wing6qq.jpg I did really like the stage of designing the truck. And offcourse the stage of receiving and building the truck. When I noticed that (almost) everything fits, I got an very good feeling. So I discovered that I like designing cars. I am allready thinking of a new project. Again an truggy. But now with the complete drive line and suspension of the Hotbodies lightning stadium truggy. The chassis will be in the style of twin vertical plates. This idea is very personal. Certainly, I want to design a truck, that people are willing to buy. So therefore I need to know what your ideas are, for an perfect truck. Please let me know, untill the finest detail, what you want. And maybe I will design the perfect truck for you! |
For me the perfect truck would have good ground clearance with a low cener of gravity. I know it is hard to do but bashing requires clearance while racing requires low cog. The ablity to remove the center diff with ease is great to.

I agree with CHC. A perfect basher with a easy to remove center diff. We need ground clearance with the handling(low center gravity)

Hmm allright.
So you want a low cg truck. With the ability change the ride height for racing and bashing. That can easily be fixed with a shocktower that provides lots of holes for the different styles of riding. And what parts for the drive line and suspension should I use? Does the HB lightning stadium parts seem nice? I did really like to hear some feedback guys! Don't think that I make a truck for you if you give an idea. I just want to know all the ideas of everyone. And then I put all the ideas in one truck! |
Jasper, the HB Lightning suspension is great. I however would try something with a Revo suspension.

I would like to see an airbag in the front that will deploy just before hitting the curb at wot. Super easy shock adjustment quick release pin instead of screws on the shock towers

@ sqee I prefer the revo suspension over the HB lightning stadium. But the G2R conversion for the revo is in my eyes almost perfect. So it is not worth the time and all the energy, for such minor changes in comparison with the G2R. And if you look to Dafni G3R, I think it is hard to do it better. @ go4gold the airbag is a great idea! Only hard to make. But I will do some research about how an airbag works. The quick release pin for the shocks is a good point. I will definitely think about that! More inputs are greatly appreciated! :027: |
Jasper, what about a TVP style Revo chassis?? That would be an awsome basher for those who want ground clearance.

After a better look and some chatting with squee. I think the TVP style revo, will be a good idea. The suspension is great, the parts are all over and it will be a challenge to design!
More opinions are still greatly appreciated! |

Accesible differentials, like the LST design, really good for getting diffs out. :)

The Revo diffs are really easy to remove actually. Pull the front or rear assembly off (5 screws for front and 7 for the rear I believe) and the pins for the sliders and it slips out the top. You don't even have to split the bulkheads.

What about a savage suspension with revo style shocks? It would be extremely tough.

Tomorrow I will buy a second hand, complete revo. I will sell all the nitro stuff and start making an overal design. I can check if the savage suspension is an option. Wich center diff should I choose? The diff from the OFNA Ultra LX Comp is 17 dollar on ebay. With hardened spur. I found the right ofna spur gear on the official site. partnumber: 30110.
