ESC Question (not bl)
I want to use what I have on hand, so heres what I have. I have 18 GP 3700
and a Dewalt 18v motor. And a Savage .25. What electronic speed controller will handle this? I am also using Futuba tx/rx. Can I use a BL ESC so when I upgrade I will have a compatable ESC? |
I am not sure which brushed-only EC to use, but not all BL controllers allow the use of brushed and brushless motors. Actually, the only ESC that I know of that is able to do both brushed and BL is the new Mamba Max ESC, but I don't think that will handle the cell count you have.
|
There aren't any 18 cell BL ESCs that can do brushed. The only other one that can do up to 12 cells besides the Mamba Max is the U-Force 75.

There have been brushed escs for high cell counts like that, but I don't recall who makes them or if they are even still available.
There are battle bot controllers if nothing else, but I have zero experience there. Google battle bots/ robot wars stuff... |

If you need reverse, then as it was mentioned above, here you can find serious ESC for robots. In the past I was running modified EVX on 18 cells with Dewalt motor without serious problems, but not more then 30A continuos with stock heatsinks. Artur P.S. But there will be NO BL future with them! |
