Worlds fastest rc car challenge
 

I didnt see a thread on this so I figured I would start one. This past Sunday in Cali RCCA held a fastest rc car challenge race at. Nic Case had a 160mph run with his bl lipo powered beast. A Custom Works dirt oval car!!!!! Tony Phalen ran 76 mph in an 18T!!!!!! Novak got 77mph from a 3.5 velocity system on 6 cells:eek:

Was that 160mph speed on a tethered vehicle? I remember seeing a Nitro "car" (was little more than a long bullet-shaped car) doing ~200mph, but it was on a tether going in a circle.

Nope no tether. Straight line speed on a 1/4 mile drag strip. I didnt want to post a link to the race results, but if you google "worlds fastest rc car challenge" you will find it.

That's impressive then. It took the Nitro car about a minute to get to that speed from the engine revving real low to it sounding like a mosquito.
