E-Maxx brushless RTR weight?
 

I was wondering what sort of weight peoples Emaxx's are RTR including batteries etc. Bit concerned mines a tad overweight.

Mine weighs 5.3kg, or 11.6lbs, with 12 GP3700, 9XL, 9920 controller, UE diffs & cvds, RPM wheels & savage RTR tyres. With 40 series bowties it weighed about the same.

I think they are between 10 and 11lbs. If you want to loose weight pull off the shift servo and lock it in high gear or even better get a g-maxx single speed conversion.

Mine was about 7 3/4lbs.

How much weight would I loose by locking into 2nd? Whats the best way to do this without purchasing any other parts?

I can't really think of any ways to reduce the weight on it without sacraficing durability. The only non-essential hopup it has is a wheelie bar, which weighs less than 30g.

Wow i thought it was more was that without the batteries?

You'll lose however much your sevo and linkage weigh.

I glued the shaft in place with a little CA glue

If I locked it into 2nd, is it safe to remove any of the tranny gears to take more weight off?

Just had the rear end of my car off, and without the wheels on, it weighs 960g. I swear its the diffs that increased its weight the most.

if you want a cheap way to lock the tranny in a gear - use a metal wire from the tranny shaft and secure it to a screw on the tranny. Loosen a screw close to the shaft and tighten the wire on it - then retighten the trans screw. Thats what i did back in the day... Good luck

I was I did was take out the shift fork, 1st gear idler, and grind down the 1st speed gear and use it as a spacer to keep the output shaft from sliding and then put 2 screws and locknuts through the 2nd speed gear and shift dog.

I need a new tranny though, the one in the picture got badly damaged in probably every way. :(

Right so now I know its definately overweight. I'll try locking it into 2nd later if I get the time. What other things could I do or parts could I fit to reduce the weight? Thing is I live on a farm and bash it quite hard so fitting an uber-lightweight suspension kit isn't really a good idea.

I done that exact wthing with mine too.

My maxx, weighed in at 4.4KG once with Lightning Stadium wheels/tyres. (14 cells, 9xl,)

Creeped its way up to 5KG just now though. :eek: Diet time! Probably all the mud on it :018: .

Mine is less than 7lbs with a basic XL motor, 3S lipo, stock shell, the singlespeed, gmaxx cf chassis, modified stock 3.3 bulks, dace shocktowers, 4 shocks, integy diffhousings, 7075 cups, stock arms, hpi dirtbonz tires.

With a 4s lipo it should be 7 lbs.

I have a mgt that is 12.5 lbs with 16 cells. I find the tires make a difference. My gmaxx is close to 14lbs. I can loose some serious weight with different tires. I don't worry about weight. Just put more power to make it go.
