esc for feigao
 

iwas looking at some brushless motors on ebay and was wondering what kind of esc i could use that 14 cells and Feigao 8 XL Brushless Motor that doesn't cost over $250.00:027: :032: :018: :eek:

For $280 you could get the Quark 125. Its well worth the extra $$. If you can't get the 125, the Warrior 9920 is next best.

9920 would fit nicely in your budget.

If you want to go lipo in the future, go with the quark 125, it has got a built in cut-off, which you need to buy seperate with the 9920.

The quark 125 hasn't got a reverse brake though. Something to notice.

You will love that 8XL on 14 cells. It's a good motor. Try it with 16 too!

You can look at the mgm 160 16 as well. It has the built in lvc for lipo as well. Has a higher amp rating to. Just 5s or 16 cells is the down fall. Then again I have heard some people have problems with the quarks on 6s lipo. Me as one of them.

What are the brakes like on the MGM 160? Also, is it as programmable as the Quark 125B?

The9920(189.00) is a good solid esc and will work great with that motor on 12-16 cells. You will also need an ubec(37.00). Are you looking at the 8xl for 59.95? Do a search on here for all the different controllers to read what people are saying about thembefore choosing 1. Sometimes it really pays off to spend a little extra nowcause you may end up spending it later anyway.

I run a 9920 and 9XL on varying voltages, and can't really fault it. If driven hard enough the whole setup will get pretty hot, but I don't think theres many esc's that wouldn't. The 9920 does have stuttering at low speeds, but I can drive it around my kitchen without it presenting a problem, so I doubt it'll cause you any :) I purchased a seperate LVC to use with it (can be had for $12 or so..see the LVC thread in the electronics section).
