Flightpower kept their word (Awesome news imo...)
 

I am impressed with the flightpower cells, (in fact, raving enthusiastic, considering their specifications)

their cells stay above 3V at a 50C discharge, which puts a 1S1P 5000mAh cell at a whopping 750 watts peak power per cell.. Imagine what only 4S of these could do..

well, i started a topic about them quite some time back. They told me they would come with a shielded version of their cells.

The day has come..

I was emailing with them, about their new type of balancer, and asked again about the shielded cells;

I tryed Kokam 20C, ThunderPower 15/24C and the Flightpower evo20.
There's not story ... the evo20 are superb.
They deliver really a lot of power uder load keeping an high voltage.
I was able to see near 100A current drawing for a 5S pack keeping the
voltage up to 3.95v per cell in the middle of the charge of the pack.
They always stay cold.
You can charge them at 2.5C (it will cost you some cicle of life and some
power in their life).
You can have instantly discharge rates till 40C.

Keeping them in a sexy alloy case, would be a wonderful idea also for
bigger packs as 5S ones :)

The cased ones are only 2s1p. I wish they'll do ones with more cells.
Whew! Now I can say my research for the best lipos is finally over.

That looks like a pretty awesome pack, and the price isn't that bad (relative, of course). I'm curious which cells are in there, though. Enerland makes some 5000mah cells that are rated at 20-30C continuous, maybe these are them, but underrated?

They have 4350 and 4900 cells now aswell.The 4350 cells seems related to the 5000 cells,the length is the same and the capacity:weight works out about the same.
The 4900 cells are a different shape and have a higher capacity:weight than the other cells.Based on the power per gram they look better than the 5000 cells.They're very tall though.
I'm trying to decide which cells to go for 4350 or 4900:032:

More capacity means more weight and that is why I've gone with the 3700mah ones. Quite light in comparison to the bigger ones. Surely the bigger ones will put out more power and punch, but hey, how far are we planning to go?
With a 1950/10, a pair of 3700mah lipos will give you long run times. You konw it more than I do.
15 minutes for a basher such as I is more than enough.
I would only go for the higher capacities if I'm using a pretty hot, fast and low turned motor.
Any way, I'm only discussing my own point of view, here, nothing else.

Go for the 4900mah, of course.

those are some awesome looking lipos with even more awesome stats.

Yeah i agree,the weight difference betwwen the 4350 and 4900 is relatively small and the extra 100mah of the 5000 isn't worth the extra weight.
best to chose between the 3700 and 4900 i think just based on those stats.

the weight for the 4s1p 4900 is a typo though but i'm going from the weights of the other packs, it should be around 490 grams.

I don't usually want more than 15 mins either,but i was having too much fun today seemed to end too soon,that's why i'm thinking about bigger packs.For racing i'd run the 3300s with pack changes between races,those cells pack some punch already.

To tell the truth, I did not even receive them, yet. My truck is 100% built up, but probably in the next few weeks I can post some pics and a review of the Evo20 as well as the new V-Balancer.

A small detail on these trakpower packs;
They use a small 2mm plug for balancing them. (the plug in the center of the two main plugs)
