Ford F350 High-lift
 

The Ford F350 High-lift is being officially licensed for tamiya to produce it in a 1/10 scale electric powered rc machine.

It is almost an exact replica of it's real counter part. The only disappointing thing about it is that it is not fully built out of steel and alloy like the old tamiya pick up trucks.
The truck has a three speed tranny with a stock 540 motor and only one motor and one battery pack ( which is another disappointment for me, atleast). The tranny has a slipper clutch, too. This lovely beast includes a full set of 42 ball races. Too much, eh?

I hope I can get one in the future when they would release hop ups for it.
Until then I'll think about the best brushless system that would suit it.

Maybe a 380 BL would be good, anythingg bigger would probably tear it apart! I really small 2s lipo would be cool to keep weight way down and maybe durability up, but my experience with Tamiya is weak. Especially the more complicated/detailed kits. Like my Jugg...sigh. TXT is cool shelf queen.

No offense though, it does look like a fun truck for fun detailed building and easy running. I love Tamiya -- my first RC was a Frog! I have an S2000 kit in my closet I still need to build, detail on that is too cool!

Nay, 380 is good, yeah, but the truck might be very heavey for such a motor.

so what does it do rock climb. bashable? or just like what a pick up does?

Well, its mostly like a show truck, if nothing else.
Truely, I want them to make some hop ups for it. It'll be one nice truck, but not as tough as a monster truck.

I like it. Only thing is, replacements parts would be a bitch to find. Not not mention, probably pretty damn heavy. A 380XL would be good. Just gotta make a motor mount if its not a C version.

why would you guys get bl for it if it mostly a show truck? ok i could understand you could take it to the road but for thatn bl, i uno

I assure you, Mike, Tamiya's gears are top notch and I dont believe there'll be any problem with running even a 1920/10 in it. The batteries are the limit, though.

The only problem i can see are the diffs,they look the same as the TLTs,all the axle parts look the same except for the cases which look a little different,presumably for the leaf springs and to look a little more scale.

It's not a major problem,wouldn't stop me buying one 'cause it looks awesome,like a bruiser but affordable. it's just the diff gears are pot metal and they can break with BL power and there's alot of screws to swap them out.i speak from experience.Spares are cheap though and the slipper should help alot.It's not the sort of truck you'd want masses of power in anyway,6 cells would be enough i think.

I've never had the TXT-1 so I can't tell the difference.
If I get one, an Evo20 2s1p 3700 will surely come with it. Along with a Mamba Max controller and a Lehner or Neu motor.
One of my friends, here at home, has a Bruiser, but he does not want to sell it. Man, its one incredible bruiser for sure.

Did i say affordable? i just looked and the rrp in the UK is £330,yikes!

It's sure to sell for less though,you can get dark impact kits on ebay for half the UK price so i suspect it will be the same with this one,i'm thinking about getting one too.It's got this multi fuction controller available soon,wonder what it does,might be fun.You could use 4 channels for it already just with the 3 speed and 4-wheel steering,i want lights and a working winch for it:005:

Well, it looks really cool. It would make a good tow truck for your basher if you built a trailer!

The first time I saw it I thought it's the same as the oldies. Like the Hilux and Mountaineer, but it's built out of blastic in most parts. That's why I'm waiting for hop ups.
