Anyone know anything about these motors? Im just curious. They are Outrunners capable of 40,000rpm and according to the website have as much torque as the 10000rpm outrunners? They have a line designed for cars and yes... Monster Trucks

Anyone know anything about them. Ive never heard of them until now.

Correct me if Im wrong here, but I thought that Outrunners had more torque than the can style motors, but were limited on the rpm and thats wh they are no good for cars. Could this be a best of both worlds?

I could be way off base with this. I really dont know anything about outrunner motors. Is this just stupid?

I haven't heard about those motors, but why would a low rpm motor not be good for cars? With a lower rpm motor, we might be able to get away with using minimal gearing, as long as there is enough torque to compensate. That would mean less wear on bearings since they aren't spinning so fast. The only downside I can think of for an outrunner is the fact that dirt might get into the openings, and you'd have to watch wire routing so nothing contacts the rotating can.

160 usd isn't too bad if these are good motors.

But then I was also thinking I could also get a wanderer or feigao for $90.

The question is... Are they any good?

I had one Cyclon Car 5000 for my 1/10 buggy.
It's a great motor with a lot of torque. And due to its open design it doesn't
get hot even if you go for long gearing on the car.
It develops about 550 watts and it has a long and low efficiense curve. That means
that it's not good to push it through a lot of rpm, but it also means you can
use all its torque on lower rpm.

It is surely less powered that a plettenberg shadow and it doesn't do all that rpms
of the novak velocity, but with good gear it is really great.

I can think other cyclon are great as well, always due to that exotic open
design (outrunner). They are hand made in France and they are not 300$ motors.
