USB Lead

Bought my 5700 about 2 weeks ago, still not arrived but that's typical with USPS coming to the UK for me. :024:

Does the USB cable come with all the packages, or do you have to buy it seperatly?

BrianG 08.25.2006 09:16 AM

Yes, the USB cable comes with it. It's a standard type A to mini type B cable so if it doesn't come with it for some reason, you could pick one up. I would download the newest version of the software though.

Dang thats expensive from compusa. Dosen't castle sell theirs for $20?

BrianG 08.25.2006 04:11 PM

Yeah, CompUSA is never cheap. I was actually just pointing out that it is a standard USB cable, not some proprietary connector on the non-computer end. If you want cheaper, how about this?

Nick 08.25.2006 06:12 PM

Oh cool, I have one of them for a camera anyway. :)

BrianG 08.25.2006 09:19 PM

It's really a moot point since it comes with one. But it's nice to know what fits if it ever goes bad or you lose it...

One thing about programming the ESC: make sure the USB cable is plugged all the way into the ESC. I didn't have mine all the way in and it wouldn't connect to the PC (go figure), but it needed a little more push to seat it all the way.

Too bad the mamba 25 doesn't do the link

squeeforever 08.27.2006 03:34 PM

I think they are computer programable...

crazyjr 08.30.2006 01:30 AM

If so, How? I have two and can't find the plug, unless you have to mod a mini male to the reciever plug

glassdoctor 08.30.2006 07:20 AM

CC has an adapter for the mamba 25 to use with the link.

crazyjr 08.30.2006 07:07 PM

Please tell me that you have a link, I just looked and couldn't find anything

Ventman 08.31.2006 12:05 AM

You use the old PHX-Link, now called the Castle Link with the mamba 25, it was originally intended for the phoenix aircraft ESC's but it works with the mambas.

Do you know if the software from the mamba max will work with this setup? and exactly how does it connect to the mamba 25? Through the reciever plug? Sorry for all the Questions, I like to know how something works before getting it

Joe Ford 09.12.2006 10:46 AM

The software is the same, but you need an additional plug at the end of the USB cable for it to work with the Mamba 25. We will sell that part separately for those of you who have Mamba Max's for $18.95+shipping.

Ok thanks. Good to see you come over here and answer questions
