QUARK 125B MonsterPro vs. 125B AirMaster?

Besides the programaing.... Whats the diference between these 2 controllers. they are rated the same as far as I know and have the same 125B numbers, but the AirMaster version is like $100 cheaper. Anyone know what makes te MonsterPro $100 more? I'd really love to understand. Seems kinda like the car guys are getting ripped....

Just less options on the market for large car controllers so they can charge more???

Hello,
I think maybe you are right.
Quark esc for car and air are same hardware design, just only main program differ.i think.

and maybe, airplane esc market is so many same product, for car esc just not much more product..

that is in my opinion.

there's no reverse on the airmaster one.. and it's alittle tricky to program and calibrate with a pistol... but it's good for a gas conversion.... since you don't use reverse.... when you do use reverse, the motor does nothing or brake (which doesn't matter) but the servo will brake the vehicle... because I used a cheap tower pro 60amp air esc in my inferno a while ago.. and it worked fine.. just I have to calibrate it every time I change packs...

I get that this would be less han ideal for a car application and I don't intend on on using one.

What I don't get is if the hardware is the same, just programmed with diferent software... Why is it so much cheaper. It just doesn't make sense to me.

yeah.. I don'tkknow either... Same goes for the MGM controllers.. the air ones are cheaper...

It takes alot more time and money to develope the car software I would imagine...

yea things like punch control, reverse, probably a lot of their no cogging stuff which isnt really necessary for planes.

Now if only the firmware was upgradeable with a simple update...

andywpj 08.29.2006 11:40 PM

i think update firmware form AirMaster to MonsterPro is not so easy. never mind.

but we also can use airplane esc with mechanical brake on truck right?
if truck not need reverse or motor brake like SAVAGE.

i am plan use Castle Phoenix 110HV in my savage, i think it's good control especially it support to 50V high.

The 125b Monster used to be priced like the airplane one. I don't recall who what and where, but something happpend and the price was jacked.

Are the MSRP $100 apart?

Just a different take on this. :)

Dinball RC Mart is selling the AirMaster 125B for 171.90 w/free shipping on Ebay.

Gundam-Guy 08.31.2006 03:41 PM

any one know if u can use it with a pistol radio
and what about the Phoenix-125? for this
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWA%3AIT&rd=1
it uses t maxx brakes and reverse so my controler doesnt need it

Rtsbasic 08.31.2006 03:53 PM

Dinball was the shop that had the Monster Pro's very cheap, $170 sounds about right. Wish I could have purchased one before the price controlling was enforced.

Yea. I almost did it. I was looking at it for a few days and then when I went back to actually buy it, there werent any more at the cheap price. Now they are 280 just like everyone else.
