i need help on how to set up my esc run in series..im new to electrics..i actually posted on the wrong thread about this but i will ask again..
im also curious what caused my esc to burn..i got it used and i connected it as seen on the pix..less than 10sec i heard it sizzle..are my connections right?and do u think it messed up the esc when i used a y-harness to connect it to the rx with the brake servo?

Wiring looks ok. Same as my 9920.

The Y harness wouldn't harm the ESC. Must have been a previous fault before you owned it.

I agree with Darren. This is exactly why i don't buy electronics used....you never know. Even when they seem like a good deal, makes me wonder why they are selling. Anywho, i hope that it's not the esc! good luck.

You might have just toasted the internal BEC. Did you pull the red center wire on the plug that goes from the esc to the RX. This disables the internal BEC. I'm not sure what the cell limit is on the internal BEC for Mtronics, but I know w/ the quark the limit is opnly like 8 cells. With a higher cell count you need to run a rx pack or get an external bec unit.

The rest of the battery wiring looks good. Make sure you dont have some wierd short from a stray sloder blob or something. Other than these 2 things I have no other ideas. Could just be a bumm ESC.

thanks guys..when it sizzled there was a black liquid that came out on the side of the esc casing..so i think thats not just the BEC..so the quark125 can only use 8cells?is that combined or per pack?im gonna be using a total of 12cells of ib3800s is that good?
anyway are feigao nemesis and wanderer both the same?just different labels?

Yea, Feigao, Nemesis, and Wanderer are pretty much the same. I would choose a Feigao C though. The Quark is rated for 10 cells, I think. I would still use a UBEC. It will run cooler.

You can use up to 16 cells on the Quark125, but f you are using more than 8 cells you need to disable the internal BEC by unpluging the red center wire on the plug that goes to the Rx. Theinternal BEC is only designed to take 8 cells max. The rest of the esc can handle 16 cells.

My 9920 is wired pretty much the same way. I only used 2 sets of deans to wire mine.You can shorten up your wires by getting rid of the connector on the esc wires. Take that connector out of line and run the esc wires to the male dean that comes off theother sideof the battery connector. Still a Y but not completely removeable. You only need to disconnect one battery plug as this cuts the circuit to the ESC. This will help shorten the wires about 1 1/2in on your setup. Run an UBEC to help take some of the load off of your ESC.

The Quark is actually rated for 18 cells or 6S LiPo max, and I'm almost positive 10 cells on the internal BEC.

It's the resin goo that encases the controller I think... when it goes nuclear it melts the crap out of the pool of resin...

Mine would should out like a torch when it blew... and I think mine was the bec that triggered the meltdown.

so ineed external bec so i can run my 12cells?
what if i run 1 pack of 4200mah 2s2p lipos?will it make a difference versus 12cells of 3800mah packs in series?

and so after i take that center red wire i can just plug my batts or i need to do something else?and will i still need the external bec?or i can put the external bec and leave the red wire connected?
