ESC programability
Hello, I'm Beginning to biuld a E-revo and am trying to figure out a good esc/motor combo. I've run Mamba systems on everyting else I own but the Maxx is to small and underpowered according to castle. I really like the programability of their ESC. I understand that the MGM and Warrior ESCs are programmable also. I am curious whether or not the have the same level of computor based programability as the castle systems.
I'm converting my revo from a 2.5hp nitro to the g2r chassis. I want to stick in the 2-3cell lipo range to keep weight down. I'm not looking for something with so much torque that the truck will wheelie on command at 3/4 throttle but something that will be just as quick as the .21-.28 powered buggies I run with at the local track. Any suggestions? |
just to clarify, when you say 2s-3s, do you mean two 2s packs for a total of 4s; and two 3s packs for a total of 6s? because you don't want to run less than a 4s in a revo.
i think you should go with a Quark esc, i have one in my maxx and i love it! also i think a xl, lenher 19 series, or a neu motor do very well in your e-revo. here is the brushless stuff: quark esc http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...RK_125A&cat=21 xl, lenher 19 series, and neu motors(xl's are on the second page) http://www.rc-monster.com/brushlessmotors.php you might be able to run the mamba max esc, but it can only run 4s. (with BEC disabled) http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail..._MM_ESC&cat=21 and on one last note, you will need a UBEC. http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...=6vubec&cat=21 :018: hope this helps! *edit* how could i forget! welcome to the forums! |
yes a pair of 2-3s packs is what i meant. do the quarks have a problem with overheating due to no heatsinks, or at least none that i can see. I live in Fl and it's ungodly hot and humid here, something that doesn't bode well for cooling electronics.

you could also put a fan on it and gear on the conservative side............. |
Most people add some kind of small heatsinks to theres and have MUCH better temps. I have seen several simply use RAM heatsinks stuck to it.

cool. how's the programability? are you able to set throttle/brake curves like the mamba esc?
