Help with center diff in Jammin conversion
I need help getting my center diff tuned in my crt conversion 8s, 2240 power, I started out with 10K and it unloads on the front end on anything over 3/8 throttle, so I switch to 50K in the diff, it helped the unloading a little I can do maybe half throttle but the diff gets quite hot, it may have even boiled the fluid. I would like to be able to use more of my systems power without the front end spinning like crazy, I can go to a 100k or higher diff oil but is that really nessisary? I am afraid the diff will just heat up even more. I will duct tape the inside of the tires to minimize the tire balooning maybe that will help some because now after the front breaks traction the front tires balloon like crazy and I have to let off to regain control. I would'nt mind being able to do wheeles too. Should I switch to the highest diff fluid I can find in the center or will that spell trouble to the rest of my drivetrain?

Perhaps putting the cells more to the front would help too.
Any truck likes to balloon in the front, because the pressure is larger on the rear tires. i don't know what the boiling point of silicone is, but i doubt if you are able to reach it in a diff. You could get a tad heavier oil. 100K would be good to use, if 50K balloons too much. and with the tires duct-taped the ballooning of the front tires will be almost gone. What tires are you using? and on what surface? the grippier the tires, the less fast they will loose traction. |
Thanks for the help Serum, I am going to try 100K and tape the tires
Unfortunatly I do not have the room to move the cells forward I am using crimefighters on grass. I might try some mulchers or the new Badlands MT, they should hook better. |
Mulchers and grass.. That's asking for grip.. :p
