Some of the windings on my LMT basic 5300 motor broke and i think i'm getting less overall torque...am i screwed?

coolhandcountry 09.25.2006 07:35 AM

Your not screwed. Just think you need another motor.
IF that is screwed. I think so. Signs of lower torque is the motor is drawing
less amps. The internal resistance has went up for it has less wire size to
travel thru.

Pick up yourself a Neu motor, YgguB, its way better than the Basic and it is not really that expensive.

Screwed, not screwed.. Did you bought it in this condition?

coolhandcountry 09.25.2006 01:11 PM

Depends on esc whether to run a neu motor or not.

Serum 09.25.2006 01:15 PM

that's a fact Leroy! the Nue are 4 poles, which work flawless with MGM or Quark escs.

I am not surprised.. they are stunning.. I really need to get one.. thanks for the info Brian. I forgot glass uses it on his neu,

Probably the best bang for the 4S buck.. :)

When i got it all the wires were intact and the thing ran fine.

Sneeck 09.26.2006 01:06 AM

The wire's are shorting themself out on eachother, atleast that's what I think explains why you getting less power. In fact, your lucky you didn't smoked your esc!

What you could try is pop the back end off and try to get some headshrink around the wire's.(remove the old one) But it might be that the winding's are allready damaged. My best bet would be a new motor, like adviced above.
