REVIEW : Brushless combo for CAR & BOAT
Hi to all,
recently I bought a brushless combo for my Team Losi Matt Francis 1 at rc-monster.com I just want to congratulate that rc-monster is reliable, have good support and do fast shipping. Speed control MGM Compro 80 amp (6to12 cells) http://www.aubergearnold.qc.ca/downl.../olivier/2.jpg Motor Feigao 8s (4400t/v) http://www.aubergearnold.qc.ca/downl.../olivier/1.jpg http://www.aubergearnold.qc.ca/downl.../olivier/3.jpg My brushed setup was LRP IPC Super Sport Trinity Chameleon 2 pack 6cells 3000mah 22/86 http://www.aubergearnold.qc.ca/downl...ivier/mf_1.jpg http://www.aubergearnold.qc.ca/downl...ivier/mf_2.jpg http://www.aubergearnold.qc.ca/downl...ivier/mf_3.jpg it gives (41.4km/h or ~26mph) http://www.aubergearnold.qc.ca/downl...esse_brush.jpg in BL pack 6 cells 3000mah 16/86 (42.4km/h or ~27mph) http://www.aubergearnold.qc.ca/downl...tesse_bl_1.jpg pack 12 cells 3000mah 18/86 (50.3km/h or ~32mph) http://www.aubergearnold.qc.ca/downl...tesse_bl_2.jpg I like the sSmmMoooooTTHhh speed. Thats not like my mini-t : so abrupt. I just want to say that the speed that not soooo ast, I was thinking of a +6-10mph easily at 6cells. but the top speed is reached at the half distance of my brush setup. the acceleration is so better. its sure that im not geared like the brushed setup, I will try with 22/86 next time when the wheater will be better here. i am in hurry to try it in a boat like a Traxxas Blast or somethink same. I need something that have a motor plate not a thing that the motor is supported by a plate at the top. i need something that I can screw the motor to a plate. the ABC Typhoon or the Traxxas Blast is a good choice I think... If i can buy something used or new without electronics it will be better.. you have questions ? i have answers I think;) |
How come you're going so slow with 12 cells? I think it was a typo - you meant 6 cells right?
|
on 12 cells that thing must go 50mph at least!
|
I think like you, it suppose to go faster than that(that's not a type error), maybe my GPS is not reliable or I don't take the good setup for the speed control, maybe a re-programming will help?
|
You GPS is right, you can trust it.. :)
I don't know what's wrong either.. Is the motor getting real hot on 12 cells? It should be a freaking torpedo on 12 cells.. uncontrolable, like a mini-t with a mamba 8K on 3S lipoly ;) |
on 6 and 12 cells the motor don't get soo hot, I think like 90ºF for the 6cells and maybe 130ºF for the 12cells. is not so hot.
yes I know it suppose to go soo fast, with my mini-t mamba 5400 and 3s LiPo I got something like 30-40mph easily but I don't check with my GPS but it gives the impression to. |
What type of cells ? You just say 3000 mah. I bet some GPs would get better speeds.
|
thats not matched pack its leisure pack, not competition pack.
I got 4 for ~50$US http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...32424&tc=photo i will surely switch to 3s LiPo pack sooner |
I can tell you this;
Your setup won't be faster than the amount of power your packs can deliver.. This is the typical prove.. It's your batteries that are the limiting factor in your setup. |
does the Feigao 6s or Lehner Basic 5300 will fix the prob ? the speed control I don't think it can handle the 6s (108 amps) and the speed control is 80... maybe the basic 5300?
do you think that a different program of the speed can help? |
No, your batteries are crap.
That's the problem. |
what do you mean by crap?
if I buy some GP3300 it will be a lot better? something like this : http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...966953447&rd=1 ? |
Yes,
You are using a highpower setup with batteries that cant deliver a descent 30A! Buy GP3300's pushed/matched, on 8 cells your truck will fly like it never did.. :) You bought the cheapest batteries available, 12.5 dollar for 6 cells. Its like putting a 50 cc two stroke in a Porsche.. |
Austin (maxamps.com) gives you a discount of 5 percent when you register on his website.
I think Mike can deliver you good batteries too. |
ohhh ok...
and the LiPo pack like that http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXJSJ2&P=ML will be awesome at 64A continuous discharge?!! |
