woow i havnt been on here since forEVER!!!!
hows everybody so yeah will the 17mm wheel convertion from HPI fit the maxx? cuz i wanna get this 4731 2pcs MOUNTED PHALTLINE TIRE 140x70mm on TREMOR WHEEL CHROME from HPI for my Maxx btw I havnt touched my maxx for over a year =[ just no time i gotta disassemble everything and clean and reassemble b4 running to check stuff =D thanks in advance |
Welcome again..
Nothing fancy happened, only thing is that Leroy (coolhand) is cheating on us with his bicycle.. The savage 17mm adapters are not suited for the maxx, because the savage uses 8mm wheelshafts. the phaltine wheels are COOL! i've seen them in person at my LHS, and they look stunning. Plain simple.. I know hobodies offers 17 mm adaptors for the maxx, (at least i thought it was hotbodies, they include them with wheels, i pressume their Ufo's etc. |
I used Savage hex's on my Emaxx for a while, it worked but was not ideal, if you don't want the wheels to fall off you gotta be careful shimming them a bit.

Theres two types of 17mm, they look like adapters for buggy style 17mm? I use the other sort (like an oversized 14mm).
|
The maxximizer are the ones for the buggywheels
@aqwut, you can't center the savage hexes on a 6mm shaft. it's asking for a wobble. |
Why won't the ones I listed work? They look like the same style as these, which are recommended by HPI for use with those wheels:
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXKSC1&P=V I realize the axle diameter is different between the two, but it appears that the flange on the hex adapter fits through the inside of the wheel hub on either set of adapters. |
I thought the wheels he wanted to use needed other ones. (the savage X uses 17mm adaptors too, but they are simple 17 mm hexes, without the flange.)

Read the text on this page regarding the Phaltline tires on Tremor wheels:
http://hpiracing.com/newparts.php They recommend P/N 87229 for converting the Savage to 17mm, which are the hexes with flanges. I think the hub opening on the wheel is large enough for the flange, or you can use the standard Savage 17mm hexes which come with huge flanged washers that cover the hub opening. |
Sounds fair to me.

Forget the Maximizers....Go for the Ofna Adapters. There made for the Maxx's and for a 6mm axle and they don't use a washer and a locknut...They use a standard 17mm nut like it should be...

chaCHING thanks Squee thanks errbody
is it Ofna part #81175 ?? |
