Gorilla Maxx
Im wondering what to go with?
1.Gorilla Max Limited Edition Red With a Mamba Monster Maxx:002: or an HV Maxx 6.5 2.Gorilla Maxx G2R tith stock motors. Both would be ran with IB3600, IB3800, or 4.4K 7-cell packs. |
HV-Maxx 4.5 or 6.5
What would do better on 14 IB3600's. I would like to aleast do 2nd gear wheelies.:027: What will I need to upgrade? I want to do the 3.3 driveshafts, will those hold? Gearing? I want to stay with the 2 speed till I do the gorilla maxx. I might go with the 6.5 cause of runtime.

The 3600's are not the most powerfull cells available. the 6.5 is a 'nice' setup, but why not use a mamba maxx controller and a wanderer 8/9XL?

Depends on what you're willing to deal with, If you want brushless now, go with the G2 w/hv-maxx. If you are willing to wait for the brushless then get the G2R revo chassis. I did the latter and have no regrets

Well, as far as the controller goes;
the mamba monster-maxx isn't available yet. (you asked for this in another topic you started) the suggestion i did was about a mamba-maxx, not the monster. g2r is great, but so is brushless. it's up to you. Two threads are merged now. |
I'd go for a G2R conversion, then grab an HV4.5 or the Monster Maxx (when it comes out) later. The MonsterMaxx is going to be faster but will take a greater toll on the drivetrain, and may possibly require you to get upgraded diffs and CVD's, whiile all you will need is a good slipper and steel idlers with an HV.
Also, even a stock powered maxx can wheelie in second with good packs, so with any burshless system you should be able to blackflip in second at the very least. However, that will be reduced with either GorillaMaxx kit because of the low CG, and especially with the G2R because of the longer wheelbase and the suspension. |
