Guys I know you can help me with this one
For under 500 bucks what is the fastest most reliable brushless motor and speed control for my E-Maxx. Please give me lots of opinions and reasons why you reccomond that combo.
For slightly over $500 you can get a Quark 125B ($280) and a Neu 1512 ($225). That will be a smooth, efficient, powerful system.
That indeed is a very powerfull system.
I personally think that 14 cells is plenty fast, for both bashing and racing. Why not go for a lightweight setup for that money? Put your money in 4S lipo's, a mamba maxx and a Wanderer L motor Instead? |
Wouldn't an L motor run hot? maybe not on only 14 cells.
No, an L motor would be more than okay. It will spool up quicker. and feel more agile than an XL.
I would choose a XL over an L anyday.
Says the man who clamed his basic xl was the only motor he would ever buy.
An xl over an L anyday, that makes no sense. |
I never said the Basic XL was the only motor I would ever buy. And for an E-Maxx, yes, I would choose a XL on a L any day. Though, Serum, did you mean that it makes no sense to you as in the grammar or whatnot? Or the choice of a XL over a L?
the choice of the xl over the L anyday, that made no sense.
In some circumstances an L would benefit. |
I'm not so sure. On paper, and real world circumstances are different. I think an L would be ok for a 7lb truck, like my E-Maxx use to be, but an XL would benefit even more because of more torque, higher gearing because of more torque, runs cooler, etc. I guess its a matter of opinion sometimes, though...
A friend of mine ran his big heavy savage (about 12-14 lbs) with heavy tires on a 10L, on 15 cells it did a nice 45mph.
What kind of temps?
Relative cool. Those L motors can do more than enough for a monster-truck.
