Community E-revo.....

Well, I bought BrianG's chassis and started my conversion. Here's some pics.

Enjoy!

Chassis, Took off his receiver box, may use it later we'll see.

Thing I like about this design is it leaves me room to mount the stock rollbar. So after I get my trany mounted I will add the rollbar for added protection.

For goodies besides the usual quickturn and steering goodies, I'm also springing JDcarbon.com pushrods, turnbuckles and hingepins. Love these things!

Got most of everything mounts up, will do the rest once my trany arrives

The bottom of the chassis is alitlte messy, and most of you racers now. A smoother bottom always means faster. Awhile back I bought a complete skid plate of ebay for like $5. ITs nothing special but I think it may do the trick to clean up the bottom and make it smooth.

Also got my kicks all put together. Clay boas, with 3 stage racer edge foams, and 23mm Pro-line 1/2 offset wheels.

Cool!

Yeah, the bottom "skid plate" wasn't designed for a low-slung suspension. It would probably catch on stuff when racing. My suspension sat higher up. I just made that bar to protect the tranny from my poor driving (if there's a rock around, I'll somehow land on it in the most damaging way!). Dafni was able to use the stock skid plate, but I couldn't figure out how he did it without cutting it up too much, so I went with the bar idea.

Nice project!

I am anxiously waiting to get my g2r so i can finally built my revo. they are one of the nicest vehicles that go around in rc-land.

Please report about the cf hingepins, if they last or not. Seems to me that they might wear relative quick on the aluminum plate.

You are not going to use the pivot-ball dustcaps?

I agree; where is the little boot and clip? They certainly help keep the dirt out of the ball joint so it moves freely.

Serum 10.06.2006 10:51 AM

They are one of the nice things of the revo..

JThiessen 10.06.2006 11:06 AM

Hey, uhhhh, I think you have a little toe out on the left front.....:005:

Nice job. I may get some of those rods. They are sweet looking....

Serum 10.06.2006 11:21 AM

I think someone is waiting for his cf turnbuckles....

Rcbros 10.06.2006 12:53 PM

Nope. Have the turnbuckles but my steering assembly isn't attached lol. Waiting on my trany so I can play with the driveshafts and get something that works.

As for the bottom, yeah I'm hoping I have a fix, If not I'll make another one lol.

I love the G2R but to spendy right now, I've kinda adopted Dafni's center diff idea. So I'm cadding a e-revo truggy. Basically a truggy for my e-revo with center diff and the goods. the truggy style diffs would work great on it as well. I'll get a protoype made when my wallet is full again.

Trany arrived today. Getting closer. will post pics when I can

I did away with the dust boots as well. I think there a pain in the ass. One question though...Your going with a E-Maxx tranny, right? If so, the RD Quickturn will be to short. Also, why are the shocks backwards? Oops..I guess thats 2 questions :005:.

Rcbros 10.08.2006 02:29 AM

the RD quickturn, will be to short, but when you use the old reverse shaft from the revo trany your good to go!

As for the shocks. WTF was I thinking? lol. Was alittle tired.

I was wondering why they were going on so wierd. Funn thing is, after 4 forums. your the first to notice lol.

Just need to do the front extended quick turn.

Does anyone have the reverse shaft that they took out after the FOC conversion? I need it, pm me if you want to get rid of it.

Let me know what you think. Not sure if the stock roll bar will be high enough but we'll see. I may install the EVX and titans until I can afford the 9xl.

Purchase list still is:
9xl
UBEC
Steel/Aluminum Idler Gear

Do you mean the pre-FOC shaft from the stock Revo tranny?

Rcbros 10.08.2006 09:55 PM

Yes,

Its the shaft you took out after the FOC was installed.
