Whats better?
 

Whats better for hex wrenches? Titanium Nitride coated shafts or spring steel. I'm not really sure...I would say spring steel since the TiNi is only a coating that will wear off...

I have some hardened steel ones and they're not showing signs of wear after like 6 months.

My friend has TiNi coated Ofna ones, they've wore down quite a bit in a shorter space of itme.

I got the integy set with ti ni shafts, had them for a few months and no wear issues

Seems like Ofna and Integy have different views on what TiNi is.

I'm surprised Ofna's appear second best to Integy.

No matter what hex drivers you buy, they beat the pants off allen keys! I cant even use them now, its like going back in time.

I like the Hudy as well. they are not that expensive.

The most used types are 2 and 2.5mm the 1.5 is only used for setscrews, and the 3 is used for M4 cylinder heads

Well I was thinking the Integy. They have a set of 7 spring steel purple ones that I like :D. I like the price too. I need 1.5, 2.0, 2.5, and 3.0. I have some M5 screws with 3mm heads on my truck, so thats a must. I would say the 2.0 isn't as common as some since Integy doesn't include it in ALOT of there sets. I did buy some Thunder Tiger ones (set of 4) that seemed nice...That was before I broke the tip off of the 2.0, and wore down the others in a matter of no time. Yea, I know, I could grind down the tip, but only a few times since the allen part is only like 1/8th inch...

2 mm is most common!! it's used for buttonhead and countersunk M3 screws.

I have a set of Integy's TI's and love them. I use my wrenches all the time. The 2.5 or something is what I use the most, had it for a few months with no wear.

Yea, it is pretty common on certain vehicals, mainly Traxxas. Anywho, I wonder why they don't include it in alot of there metric sets :032:.

I've had 2 sets of integys. They fit great but I've broken alot of tips. Dynamites are alittle better. Don't seem to break as easy and have a better fit.

But the best so far are the MIP thorp drivers.

I didn't meant cylinder cooling heads, i meant cylinderhead hex screws.

IMHO, you'd be better off purchasing tools from a company that makes tools (Snap-on, Craftsman, etc) than an RC company that purchases and re-badges them.
A coating (TiNi), is only as good as the material underneath it. Thats why some guys with with the same coating, from diff. manufactures, will have different results. Coatings are also only good in wear situations, which most tools are not used in. You want a good through hardened steel.

Well. I can say, for the money, I lvoe my integy. Not that Integy makes good product all the time, but I really like to hex drivers. They have lasted and i love'em. No wear at all after a few months! And for the price, you can't beat it. And that's my 2 cents...
