What are the repair policies?

I replaced the idler gear in the gearbox, but when I put the gearbox back in I accidentally screwed the wires that go from the esc to the receiver--- I know very, very dumb. I found this out after I turned it on and it popped.

I was wondering if there are any repair policies?

Well, judging by your signature, its a Quark 125B, right? If so, I'm not sure on something like a user error, but if its defective, Sky & Technologies is usually pretty good about it. Quick too...

Sounds like the ESC's BEC popped when the + and - was shorted. I assume the ESC doesn't work now (after repairing the wire of course)?

If S&T doesn't want to warranty it, you could try something before spending cash for repairs:

Fix the wire. Then, use an Rx pack or external BEC but don't disconnect the red wire from the connector. Assuming nothing else blew (like circuit traces), this should allow the external BEC/Rx pack to power the low-level ESC circuits which would normally be powered by the ESC BEC.

Well I hooked the wire's up and there was no power, then I decided to take the top off and here's what I saw.

Sky & Tech told me to send it to them so they can see if it is anything they can do.

Well, that's probably not a capacitor. Judging by what happened and the fact that it's burnt, I'd say that was a resistor or a diode. I tried to look at another picture of that component, but can't make it out. However, since there is a band at the end, I'd guess it's a diode.

By the way; simply replacing it, even with the right part, may not fix it. Another device may have blown as well (although not visibly). If you replace it with the proper device, you still have a chance it won't work.

I would sent it back to Mike (assuming you bought it from him) and ask him about the options. I think quark will be easy on you.

Please let us know what the results are.
