Gorilla or stock chassi?

I was thinking of going with a limited edition red Gorilla Maxx chassi but then saw a RC Solutions roll cage and a guy was standing on it! So Im thinking to get a red cage, silver braces, red bulks, and silver diff holders over time. I think that would look sick!! Hopefully when Christmas comes I can get a HV-Maxx 6.5 or that crazy roll cage and a body maybe?

Im really considering the roll cage cause it uses the stock chassi and I wont alot of wheelie action. Also I wont be messing up the $200 chassi, cause I like to drive over rough terrian.

If you drive over rough terrain, a G-Maxx chassis is not something I'd recommend. It sits really really low, and it makes a much bigger different than it would seem.

It seems like the RC solutions cage is the best, as it also flips back so you can switch packs (I'm pretty sure it does, but then again, that might only be fore the RC18's - it's been a while since I've read or talked about em).

Your plan seems like it would work well. However, might I suggest going with GA bulks and then getting them sent in for anodizing. I dont beleive any good quality company makes red bulks.

I would go for a 4.5 if you plan to buy an HV. However, if you dont drive at super low speeds all the time, you may want to consider a Mamba Max ESC with an XL motor, as it is supposed to be just as smooth.

I personally got an HV because I wanted the assurance of a pretty much completely reliable and perfectly smooth system. That and the MM was not out at the time I bought it.

I want to go with the HV-Maxx cause it wont twist cvd's and I want a smooth system till I start working. Also the ESC bolts right in the stock holes.
I want to get the 6.5 for torqe and runtime. I cant go with MM cause Im going to get 2 7 cell GP4300.

You can go for a mamba max if you're going to use x2 7 cells. Just make sure you couple the system with a receiver pack or a UBEC.

Standing on it is one thing, but taking abuse is another..

For bashing i would take the FLM chassis. for racing the gmaxx.

Don't get the GP 4300's...They don't hold there voltage at all and just aren't all that great...

BP-Revo 10.13.2006 01:03 AM

Really? I thought the GP4300's would be just a bettery version of the 3700's. I have GP3700's and they are incredible.

So I assume we should get IB3800 and IB4200SHV's instead?

My first pair of IB4200's leaked but Maxamps traded them out and they are awesome. I also have a pair of GP3300's and of course there is a big difference between them. I don't know anything about the GP4300's though

It's the same old song with every higher capacaty nimh cell that is produced.. Their smaller 'older' brothers produce more juice on higher loads..

Wow, I thought it was the opposite...oh well, I'm going lipo next anyway...
