Mbx 5 motor mount ?
I'm thinking of making another BL buggy. I would be using a mbx 5 that was givin to me by a freind. Does anbody have any pics of the mount on there buggy that griffin made ?.
|
Damn, you got some good friends...I don't know who Griffin is, but do you want one that is gonna mount the motor on the side or top?
|
Ya he is a pretty good guy :027: . Do you have any info on that mount ?.
|
What mount? You were the one that said something aobut a mount that "Griffin" made. I was just wondering if you want one that mounts on above the diff or beside it.
|
It was a motor mount he had machined. It replaced on of the diff mount's & had a motor mount incorperated into it & the motor was on the side on the chassis.

Thank you for finding that thread MR. METAL man :005: . I also have a idea for using the brake servo, while still using 14 or 16 cells. |
Oh yea! I remember him, I just didn't remember that he made those...
|
I have one of Griffins mounts, it's for sale if somebody's interested. Just send me a PM.

I'm also converting a mbx 5 to bl...
Here a pic of the motormount i made (7075 T6 alu, weight: 48g; i didn't no trimming yet the mount is just what the machine made...): http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/al...3332393133.jpg The lipoholders will get finished these days, i can't wait on the first runs. |

Your mount looks great :027: . Can you still use the mechanical brakes with your mount, like you can with super dave's ?. |
No, there needs to be a small hole on the top of the bearing to support the brake-cam..
