Dual brushless temps?

I ran my dual brushless today for the first time in a long time. It ran pretty strong, definitly no lack of torque. In fact it stripped out the rear wheels from their hexes. Time to up grade......again.
Anyway, just checking to see if the temps are ok. I did 4 high speed fly-bys and brought it in. Both motors were around 160 degrees and the controllers were about 150ish, batts were barely even warm.
Do these temps seem to be ok? If so I think I am going to gear up more.
Thanks

Yea, the temps are fine, but thats about as hot as I would want. Maybe a fan will help some with the ESC's.

Is this the dual 7xls on 5s each setup? if so i'd like to see that thing run.I'd get some 12volt fans on the controllers to bring those temps down a bit and then start gearing up carefully. It was never going to be the coolest running setup but man that thing should be fast as hell with good cells.

squeeforever 10.18.2006 09:54 PM

Yea, I believe its his 7XL/5S setup.

That thing should really fly!!!! What gearing are you running? Might have to built one on them myself:027: .

Thank you,
Promod

Hey Promod, how ya doing buddy. I am running 66/24. Thinking about bumping the pinion up to a 25 or 26 though with the addition of some fans.
When are we going to see some more top speed runs from you?

Nick 10.19.2006 05:23 AM

I'll be running my 7XL on 6s today, I've belted tyres and got a wheelie bar so looking forward to some serious speed. :)

That's if the 9920 doesn't melt but I've always wanted an MGM. :D

aqwut 10.19.2006 07:21 AM

the 9920 ran fine with 6S and the 7XL for me..... dual 7XL and 5S sound's pretty cool... Make a vid dude...

JOHNNYMAXXIMA 10.19.2006 01:46 PM

6s on a 9920/7XL? I was told that a 5s should be the max for that combo. Should I be doing a trade in on my 5s' for a 6?
Edit: Actually I forgot, i've got dual 9918's not 9920's, does that make the difference?

captain harlock 10.19.2006 02:59 PM

No it makes no difference at all.
The 9918 IS the 9920, but the latter is updated with newer software to make the BEC much better than the BEC in the old 9918.
They should equip the 9920 with a good lipo LVC and find a way to medicate the transmitting delimma.

How much your Truck weighs... 2 7XL almost weighs as much as my 2280.... what kind of Lipo's are you using?....

coolhandcountry 10.19.2006 07:21 PM

Hmm!! I guess i have to wait then. I find movie maker seems to work well. I not sure if it work with yours or not. It helps down load and edit to.

JOHNNYMAXXIMA 10.22.2006 03:29 PM

Yah, I tried they Movie Maker but couldn't get it to work. Saw some on ebay that I will probably go with.
