New to brushless and lost
Hi, i am new to brushless motors. I currently just bought a new t-maxx (got it on ebay for 200). I couldnt pass up that deal. I plan on getting a gmaxx chassis and single geared tranny. I just started to look at brushless motors because i want something faster then stock and im already lost. I want something 40+ or higher and am willing to spend what ever i can on it.... So about 200-300 or more. I just would like to know the fast and reliable motors i can afford and also your opinions on a controller to go with them. Thanks i apperciate any advice you have.

Hi Jhunt!
Welcome to this forum. 40mph is easy to reach. A Wanderer 8/9XL with a Quark 125 and 14/16 cells can get you there. If you can swing it, a more expensive (but also better) motor would be a Neu. If you are planning on using lipo's a nice setup would be a 4 or 5S2P pack of maxxamps 4000mAh cells (the 2P means you will have 8000mAh of juice) The differences between the two wanderer motors i just mentioned are runtime and speed. While the lower wind will get you more speed (and more heat as well) the higher wind will get you longer runtimes. But with these setups come more hopups. You need to beef up your diffs, and you need to ditch the stock tupperware drivetrain. You also need a steel idler in that singlespeed. If you are looking for a milder setup, you could go for the novak hv-maxx, but that's not putting the B in Brushless.. |
"tupperware drive train"...hahaha
That's a good one.... |
