Bpp Lsp
Well here is my new baby I have been working on for the last month. I got my BPP chassis a couple weeks after squee got his. Here is what she has
Quark 125b, Feigao 7XL, 14/52 gears, Maxxamps 4000mah 4s packs, maximizer beadlocks with tractor tires, JR 9000T steering servo, esc box with novak cooling fans, UBEC, and some HPI Savage bits here and there. One of Mike's motor clamps is soon to be installed along with the second battery pack. I'm still looking for a good location to mount the esc box, one bad flip and that thing is toast. I'll also clean up the wiring later. Thanks to all on rc-monster for such informative posts and for getting me hooked on brushless. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y32...l/IMG_1161.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y32...l/IMG_1173.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y32...l/IMG_1174.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y32...l/IMG_1170.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y32...l/IMG_1180.jpg |
Nice ride!!
I don't really get the huge esc box though. This was the initial bpp truck, i though? |
I got the BPP chassis used from Jamie @ Starluckrc. I don't know what version it is.
The big ESC box...well I couldn't see a secure way of mounting it. I normally see the ESC zip tied down on other members rides, but the BPP chassis is curved up top. Can you suggest a better way to mount it? |
I mounted my 7020 under the 3 braces in the back with zipties....Nice truck! I thought that Jeremy from BPP sold that truck...It was on Ebay, right? Jeremy sold his right after I bought mine. I was practically brand new and only used for 1 race day I think.

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y32...l/IMG_1002.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y32...l/IMG_1006.jpg I hear ya about the motor mounts being a bit thin, down the line I will probably make a set of my own. How much does yours weigh? With a single pack I am at 11lbs 2 oz. I think I will retry mounting the quark in that same position but without the fans. Cut the heatsinks so they slot between the cross braces. Hmmm you got me thinking now. |
I dunno....Maybe I'm loosing it...Anywho, mine ways around 11lbs with 2 3S2P 8000mah packs :p. I need to see about those battery trays for the wider batteries...I had to modify mine for my LiPos and I don't particulary like it....I am gonna design one or modify Leroys for his MGT and get it machined. I will send you the file if you want. It is gonna be designed for the 51T spur, not the 65 like they came with though...I shouldn't really be a problem with the 4.3:1 diffs. If I were you, I would do a few mods. I would go with a 8mm axle conversion and Dace CRT 23mm hubs, and a buggy upper arm mod. I would also use set screws instead of the stock E-clips. Makes it easier to work on...
|
I've got the 17mm Savage hexes and mugen steering rods. Down the line I will convert to 23mm hubs and do the buggy arm mod if I get a chance to run it offroad. On Saturday, I'm racing onroad at a local HT so I'll get to find out if it runs as well as the nitro truggies. I have a set of GRP Park Monster tires and 22 degree hubs coming today and will run those on Saturday.

it looks promising..but I think you esc box mounted to high personally....even with the body on...it doesn't look like it is well protected
|
nice truck to say the least...
|
I agree with you all on the ESC box being mounted too high. I'm going with squee's setup underneath the three rear cross bars. I'm going to trim the heatsink a little to squeeze it and the fans under there and completely forget about the outer housing.
Good news though...wife called and said I got a package from NY. Looks like my motor clamp came in. Thanks Mike! I forgot to add that the reason why I had to get the motor clamp was because the front cover on the feigao fell off during the first 90 seconds that I ran it. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y32...l/IMG_1181.jpg |
I don't think it will work with the Feigao C motors...By the way, when you ordered the 22* front hubs, did you get the package of screws and ball ends? You need the ball ends with the holder on them to run the 22* hubs.

your motor looks like it could use some rear support toward the back of the can...and I'm not sure if the motor clamp will fit the feigo as well....
|
Well that puts me in a bit of a predicament. I ordered the XL mount, so shouldn't I be good on length? Diameter I can understand there might be a problem, since the heatsink case on the feigao makes it larger. A rear support would make a lot of sense. I'll have to wait and see what the clamp looks like and go from there.

Thanks for the advice guys. |

Jamie did not buy it from ebay. Jamie, brian & jeremy are all freinds. Jamie had some input in the design of the truggy. |
