Two Videos of my G2R - Output shaft breaks at the end
Both vids are of me driving around in front of my house.
First vid is of the last 4 minutes or so of my run, taken Monday afternoon. The packs dumped right after I turned the camera off (literally). I was using stock Talon tires off my Revo 2.5R, so I had horrible traction and handling. Camera was first placed on a curb and then moved to the trunk top of an G35 Coupe parked on my driveway lol. Here is the first vid. Second vid is the first 4 minutes of a run, taken this afternoon after recharging my packs. Right before the vid ends you will see 1/2 a wheelie and then hear a bunch of clicking. That was my output shaft going bye bye. Tires were CrimeFighter MTs. The camera was placed on the hood of a Dodge Ram parallel parked in front of my house lol (at least my tripods are stable :005: ). Here is video number two And here is picture of the broken ligthweight output shaft. [URL=http://img93.imageshack.us/my.php?image=brokenshaftmq0.jpg][IMG] Here is some general info. First run was 12 minutes (second run cut short by breakage). Motor Temp was about 85 degrees in both runs, with a high of 90. Run was in 2nd gear 95% of the time. Comments welcome - Enjoy! :018: |
Uhh...no one?

Driving like that on the street without a body makes me nervous just watching:eek: BTW nice video |
I haven't flipped it on the street yet *knock on wood*

Wow, that output shaft looks like it was twisted right off. Is this the lightened shaft that comes with the FOC?
Off topic: Is this the same BP-Revo from the Trx forums? EDIT Doh! Never mind. You said G2R, which implies emaxx tranny. No FOC in that! |

Wow, there was a lot of HARD braking there. I also noticed the Revo tips to the side a tad when you turn. I thought they handled better than the Emaxx? Mine does that too(gmaxx), but not as much if I lower my suspension a tad! I really liked it though, it seemed smooth as butter! Good job! |
The body roll is normal. The suspension is setup perfect.
It just drives a little wierd on road. On dirt, the back end usually kicks out a bit and it is actually handles better. I'll have to get a vid of it on a track...cause that is what I built it for - and it handles beautifully it. Yep - I'm BP from the Traxxas forums :) As for the brakes, that was only about 1/2 brakes input on my controller, which has the brake EPA set down to 80% (out of 125%). Thats how much braking power I have on tap. Its rediculous. Its an HV 6.5 too :D |
pretty cool, Can't wait to see it on the track....some footage that is
|
olé
Good machine,but you need a cameraman,and a nicer spot...
yeaaaa |
A nicer spot?
That was just a quick vid in front of my house...obviously the street isn't useful for anything except wheelies and speed runs. Plus...that is my race truck...no way I'm taking it to a hardcore offroad bash site... |
The Gorillamax g-2 that I have has taken some pretty sound thrashings, I didnt break or bend a single thing during any of the crashes in this video. http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...63129353136429
The G-3 Revo platform has a lot in common with the G-3 so short of running into a brick wall at 30 mph you dont have much to worry about.:018: Whip it beat it make it bleed brushless power is all you need.:018: :018: :018: |

No offense taken. That was some messing around in front of my house. Normally I'm driving like a maniac. I also do take it a little easy on the G2R...its my baby lol. I do unleash it when I hit the track though. So far nothing can touch me.
