crypt (krpt)[From Greek kruptos, hidden, from kruptein, to hide.]

hello guys.
this is my kyosho twinforce that i've been working on and off and on and off for the past couple of months...
although i really like this truck, its my most unused truck of all time!!
things that i like most bout this truck is that its light weight and fast...even with stock titans!

but my all time pet peeve is them batts!
all ugly and hanging off the sides of the chassis!!!

so this is one thing i had to "fix"

which initially was a simple 180 of the motor location.....but since i might wanna run my HV in there, i had to fix the reverse rotation brought about by this flip. so.....i flipped the F/R diffs as well.....hopefully torque steer wont affect its performance...too much.

after i got to this stage.....i realised that i didnt like the look of straps holding down the batts, so i wanted to fab some sort of alu batt hold downs....

also...

here's where things got a little more complicated. the esc had to sit somewhere else as i didnt like the idea of the esc sitting on top of the motors. nothing to do with high CG blah blah...just didnt like the look.......
here's the pic of the new layout....

Nice man!

You sure those two relative small points hold the batts in place?

overtki11 10.31.2006 09:07 PM

thanks.

i'm not too worried but the two points, more concerned if the top and bottom plates aren't thick enuf and get bent out of shape after the first "tumble"(i wanted to say jump but...haha)

Nice! Stealth batteries. You should attach a dummy solar panel on top and tell people it's the first hi-power solar-powered MT! :027: :005:

Looks like those plates are 1.5-2mm. What kind of Al are they (6061/7075, etc)?

Also, if you're concerned about weight at all, you could make some cutouts on the top plate to reduce the amount of material there. It would help airflow to the batteries too...
