BL Jato

So has anyone here built a Brushless Jato? If so how did you do it and pictures/video? Thanks

glassdoctor 11.01.2006 10:16 AM

Yep... I'll let Brian take this one :)

I don't know where the thread is but you can find it with a search....

BrianG 11.01.2006 11:05 AM

Lol, thanks GD. :)

Actually there were one or two others here. There aren't that many threads in this section so they shouldn't be too hard to find (unless they are in the brushless forum).

Anyway, my Jato thread: http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3423

The first few pages are just a bunch of talk, but the real posts start at Page 4. Pictures at the end of page 5. No videos, sorry.

One thing you'll definitely want to do is get good tires for track use!!! After burning through several stock sets, I finally got some Gladiators and they work MUCH better on the track.

Cool truck BrianG, mine was never finished. thinking about trying again.

BrianG 11.01.2006 11:27 PM

You should, it's a fun truck. It's light so you don't have some of the concerns you would with a relatively heavy full-size truck. Plus, the BL system is cheaper. It's been pretty durable. The only problem I had is with the Traxxas steel CVD set, which broke. Don't ask me how because I don't know - one minute I was going fine, the next I was doing doughnuts. The stock ones have held up better and longer. Go figure.

The only thing I may replace is the chassis for the 7075 version. I noticed that after a while the shell doesn't quite line up on mounts. I assume this is from the force of landing from jumps. I don't really have any room that lends itself for adding bracing, so the stiffer chassis should help. Even then, it's not bad.

I'm thinking about going the X6 route, 4x2 configuration using nimh cells, for racing i can't use lipo/ion/mg

I know I could look at the old post. I thought I would get people posting in this section. I think a BL Jato would be awesome. Thanks for the link.
