Max voltage
What is the main limiting factor that limits the max voltage a brushless motor can handle?
|
Probably KV.
Most BL motors shouldn't be used where the KV value exceeds 65,000. So, you can run huge voltage in a 10xl but not in a 7xl... The 10xl would probably end up faster too lol... |
Well, ya it's both the max RPM and amperage capability/heat.
Once you go over the typical voltage for a given motor/Kv the efficiency goes down drastically, and you will run into heat issues. A motor likes to have a voltage just before this occurs, it's usually at its peak efficiency. 'Usually' |
