Brushless bearing maintenance
From time to time I've heard you folks talk of replacing the bearing in your brushless motors, just whats involved in this? I own a couple of the Feigao motors that I have kept the bearings cleaned but am interested in upgrading to something better. Is there a special tool needed or just whats in my tool box? Thanks

I don't think i have had a bearing go bad yet. My brother did in his feigao.
You got a good question. It is not hard to get bearings out the feigao motors. You just take and tap lightly on a piece of wood and it end come right off. |
If you don't want to break the epoxy bond on the drive shaft side endbell (Feigao motor), you can unscrew the other endbell and pull out the rotor. From there you can replace both bearings and just screw the endbell back on.

What feigao motor have you got?
The smooth cans uses a 'pressed in' endbell, and the ribbed ones a screwed on. |
I was talking a smooth can feigao. I am not sure on the c can version.

The smooth can will come apart fairly easy. Just tap the end shaft light on a piece of wood. It knock the rear end bell off.
