Anyone ever use this combo in an e-maxx before?:032:

Nope. I find the MTroniks is TOTALLY 80's style colors. Tubular dude! :005:

Great help.:031:

Let me rephrase this post. Does anyone know how good this sytem would be?

I have that speedo... it's pretty good I think... and the motor looks like a Feigao 8L. It should be ok, but I would recomend a lower kv motor... more like 2400kv range.

rcmonster.com has the BK9920 for $150

For $220-230 you could get that and a 9L or 10L motor. I think most would recomend that over the hobbypeople combo.

The mtroniks does have the 1/8" as opposed to the normal 5mm shafts. You can decide if that's good or bad...

I have the esc, but havent run it yet. I am actually planning to switch it out soon and us it as a winter set up cuz it waterfroof. Thats the only reason that I got it is that its waterproof so snow isnt a problem, that and I got it used for WAY less than the price that you showed. If you want it, I see them pop up on ebay as ESC only once in while and I have seen new ones go for as low as $99. Not always this cheap, but definatly cheaper than $299.

I am planning on running it in my emaxx with a feigo 9xl on 12cells. Nothing to wild, cuz its really only an 80amp controller with a 120amp peak rating. Its not gonna take the kind of power that a 9920 would take. Frow what I hear its nice and smooth, just not able to take a ton of power.

If you are looking for an every day setup, the 9920 with a feigao XL motor is a much better chioce IMO. Cheaper too.

I have heard the mtroniks esc work pretty smooth. I have not tested myself.
It sounds like a winner to me. I don't think have heard nothing bad.

I think the ESC's are great, but the motors aren't so much..

I'd definatley go with this one before BK. My neighbor has the 1:10 scale one in his T4 and he busted his cap on it and they sent him a new one in a timely fashion without questions. Customer service is definately a consideration when buying anything electronic and I've only heard good things about Mtroniks.

Link is not working.. is that the Mtroniks on which you can solder the wires yourself?

MetalMan 12.10.2006 12:31 PM

It has solder posts on it. It is a good ESC for sure. My first one ended up in smoke, but two weeks after I sent it in I had a new one on my doorstep (California to England, and back in two weeks!). With BK, I've waited 4 and 6 months for repair times...
